Drop an app on a folder
Drag any app onto a folder in the Dock and it moves in. Its own icon leaves the Dock by itself. Take it out of the folder and the icon comes back.
Group your apps into iPhone-style folders and put them anywhere in the macOS Dock. Your Dock gets shorter. Every app stays one click away.
One-time purchase for up to 2 Macs. Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Click a folder and it opens right above the Dock. Start typing to find an app, or press 1 to 9 to open one straight away. Esc closes it.
A full-screen launcher shows your folders and every app that isn't in one. It works like Launchpad did, and you choose what's in it.
Launchpad is gone in macOS 26. DockNest imports the folders you had there, with the same names and the same order.

macOS always shows running apps in the Dock, and no app can turn that off. When you quit an app from a folder, its icon disappears from the Dock again.
Only in the way you choose. DockNest saves a backup before every change, and “Restore Original Dock” in Settings brings back the Dock you had before.
Up to 2. To move DockNest to a new Mac, deactivate the old one in DockNest's Settings or in your Polar account, then activate the new one.
The key ties your copy to your purchase, so it only runs on Macs you activated. DockNest checks it now and then and keeps working offline for up to 14 days.
Nothing about how you use it. To check your license, it sends your key and an anonymous ID of your Mac to Polar. Your folders stay on your Mac.
No. App Store apps aren't allowed to change the Dock, so DockNest is sold here. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app.
